AEM Induction Dryflow Synthetic Air Filters AE-22096

AEM induction systems come in two styles: Cold air intakes and ram air intakes. While the purpose of these is to increase horsepower to the engine, racers aren’t the only ones who use these intakes. You’ll find cold air or ram air intakes for street performance, strip performance or styled for show cars. A good induction system is one of the easier bolt-ons you can add for more horsepower.
Cold air intakes move the air breather outside of the engine compartment. The cooler the air that goes into the engine, the more oxygen it has, which means better combustion. AEM tests all of their induction systems to ensure that your engine is getting the most air possible without causing the engine to run lean.
In some cases, vehicles won’t run their best with a cold air intake. Ram air intakes are shorter and made for vehicles that have been shown to run too lean with a cold air intake. If we have only a ram air intake available for your vehicle, that means that AEM has determined that the longer tubing for a cold air intake was not feasible for your engine. You’ll find only a ram air intake available. Where both would work, but you need something that fits a smaller budget, the ram air intake is available in addition to the longer cold air intake.
