Hooker Blackheart's K10/K20 swap components include this brace that is designed for use on any stock 1973-1984 Chevy K10/K20 transmission crossmember and will provide enhanced protection against bending in off-road use. It is also useful in engine swaps when transmissions which are heavier than stock units are used (i.e. 4L80E, 6L80, or 6L90 transmissions).
If used, reinstall the factory transfer case skid plate onto the crossmember underneath the Hooker Blackheart brace using the same holes that were previously used to attach it. Longer bolts may need to be acquired by the user for this purpose.
